  On December 20, 2024, Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed inaugurated a new orphanage in the Oromia Region, built with the support of the UAE. This project, initiated under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and supervised by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is part of the UAE's broader humanitarian efforts to enhance basic services in Africa. As a Beacon of Hope to the Orphans, The orphanage provides comprehensive facilities for over 700 orphans, including residences, two schools, a kindergarten, a library, a training center, and entertainment spaces.
