Ethiopia and UAE's AMEA Power Ink $600 Million Wind Farm Deal for Green Energy Push
Ethiopia has taken a significant stride toward renewable energy with the signing of a $600 million agreement with UAE's AMEA Power for the construction of a 300-megawatt wind farm. The Aysha wind farm, set to cover 18,000 acres of land, represents a major push by Ethiopia to expand its electricity coverage. As of 2020, only 50% of the population had access to electricity, leaving 60 million people without a connection to the grid, according to the World Bank.
