UAE Leads Global Humanitarian Efforts in 2024 With AED20 Billion Commitment


In a monumental display of compassion and leadership, the UAE has pledged a staggering AED 20 billion ($5.44 billion) in 2024 to support humanitarian efforts worldwide. This ambitious initiative underscores the UAE's unwavering commitment to addressing global challenges and aiding vulnerable communities.

The Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Initiative

Central to this effort is the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Initiative, launched by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This comprehensive initiative aims to foster international solidarity through various programs and projects designed to alleviate suffering and improve the quality of life for people in need.

Key Humanitarian Programs

1. Mothers' Endowment Campaign: Spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, this campaign established a AED 1 billion endowment fund to support the education and training of millions worldwide, reflecting the UAE's commitment to empowering future generations.

2. Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty: Under the strategic partnership with the G20, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced a $100 million contribution to this alliance, aimed at eradicating hunger and poverty globally.

3. Reaching the Last Mile Initiative: Driven by the philanthropy of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, this initiative committed AED 55 million to the Global Institute for Disease Elimination (GLIDE), focusing on combating infectious diseases and improving global health outcomes.

4. Gaza Vaccination Campaign: The UAE launched Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, an urgent vaccination campaign in the Gaza Strip, targeting over 640,000 children to protect them from polio, demonstrating the UAE's dedication to public health and disease prevention.

5. UAE Stands with Lebanon : In Lebanon, UAE President HH MBZ, directed a US$ 100 Million emergency relief package under this campaign. The UAE also extended US$30 Million to assist displaced Lebanese citizens in Syria.
