Uzbekistan and UAE Escalate Economic Partnership



The governments of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates revealed several new joint investment initiatives that will substantially boost trade and investment between the two nations. Both countries see great potential in strengthening the economic relationship.


Senior officials from Uzbekistan and the UAE met in Tashkent to finalize agreements on projects worth billions of dollars Priority sectors identified for investment included agriculture mining tourism logistics and renewable energy The initiatives will facilitate investment from UAE entities into Uzbekistan vast economic potential. 


Major UAE companies such as Masdar, DEWA and ADQ expressed strong interest in investing in Uzbekistan agricultural sector There are plans for the establishment of joint ventures in mining precious metals and developing tourism infrastructure around the ancient Silk Road sites. Logistics hubs will be constructed to enhance connectivity and transport of goods. 


The renewable energy sector is a major focus of cooperation Uzbekistan wants to increase its use of clean energy and the UAE is a global leader in solar and other renewable technologies through Masdar Joint projects will help develop Uzbekistan's renewable capacity and energy security.


Business visas and simplified investment rules were agreed on to attract more UAE businesses and investors The goal is the establishment of a UAE industrial zone in Uzbekistan to accelerate technology transfer Both sides are confident high levels of investment will flow with these initiatives.


Through such cooperation Uzbekistan and the UAE aim to tap new drivers of economic growth jobs and prosperity for their peoples. The partnership signifies their commitment to take advantage of opportunities created by Belt and Road and other connectivity projects.
