Developing UAE's Space Industry and Talent

 


The UAE defence company Edge is expanding into the space sector with the launch of a new facility called Fada This will help develop the country space industry and nurture Emirati talent. 


Fada will be based in Abu Dhabi and managed under Edge Space and Cyber Technologies division. It will work on advanced technologies for space applications like earth observation satellites Edge president Waleid Al Mesmari said Fada will offer important capabilities in data analysis artificial intelligence and cybersecurity for the space sector. 


Developing local expertise is a key goal of the new facility Al Mesmari stated that Fada will cultivate a high value workforce in the UAE  space industry  It will create many jobs and internship opportunities for Emiratis to gain technical skills and experience This supports the nation aim of a knowledge based economy driven by Emirati professionals.


By locally manufacturing satellites and providing end to end space solutions Fada will strengthen the UAE  position as a hub for space technologies in the region It demonstrates how Edge is leveraging its defence and security expertise to expand into other advanced industries as well. 


The UAE has big ambitions to become a human spaceflight leader with projects like settlements on Mars Fada establishing a foothold in satellite services and related fields will complement these longer term goals It shows how Emiratis can spearhead the development of their own robust space ecosystem.
