Ukrainians in UAE Thank Government for Helping Release Prisoners of War

 


The Ukrainian community in the United Arab Emirates expressed their gratitude to the UAE government for helping release Ukrainian prisoners On August 24th around 250 Ukrainians in Abu Dhabi celebrated Ukraine Independence Day. At the event the community thanked the UAE for their role in negotiations. 


The UAE government helped secure the release of 115 Ukrainians in a prisoner exchange with Russia This was the 55th such exchange since the war began in Ukraine The UAE played a part in facilitating the agreement between the two countries In total the UAE has assisted in negotiations seven different times to free Ukrainians.


Representatives from Ukraine Latvia Poland and other countries attended the Independence Day event People from the UAE and other nationalities also joined in the celebrations Activities included an art exhibition by Ukrainian children and workshops on Ukrainian culture Songs and traditional cuisine from Ukraine were shared with attendees.


The organizer of the event said they wanted everyone to experience Ukraine and understand their strong national identity By sharing their culture the community aimed to show Ukraine desire for peace They thanked the UAE government for helping bring Ukrainians home and working towards ending the war. 


Bringing Ukrainians back from Russian captivity is very important for their families and country The UAE played an important role in the negotiation process The Ukrainian community in Abu Dhabi expressed deep appreciation for the UAE efforts and mediation during prisoner exchanges Events like this help educate others about Ukraine and strengthen international support.
