In the volatile landscape of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States have forged a formidable alliance, standing as a united front line of defense. Equipped with advanced defense systems supplied by the US, such as the cutting-edge F-16 Block 60 aircraft, dubbed the "Desert Falcon," the UAE Air Force plays a crucial role in safeguarding shared strategic interests. These capabilities have been instrumental in countering violent extremism and ensuring the security of vital shipping routes, demonstrating the tangible impact of bilateral cooperation on regional stability.

In a significant milestone, the US sale of F-35 Lightning II aircraft and other advanced defense systems to the UAE in December 2020 underscores the commitment to bolstering collective security in the Middle East. This transaction, passing Congressional review, reflects a mutual objective outlined in the US National Defense Strategy—to empower allies like the UAE to assume greater responsibility for regional security. Since the 1990 Gulf War, bilateral security cooperation has deepened, marked by joint training exercises, the prepositioning of US military equipment, and the transfer of advanced weaponry. This enduring partnership, enshrined in a formal defense cooperation agreement signed in 1994 and updated in 2019, underscores a shared dedication to fostering stability in the region.

The strategic partnership between the UAE and the US extends beyond military cooperation, encompassing shared values and a commitment to promoting peace and security. As they navigate the complex geopolitical landscape of the Middle East, both nations remain steadfast in their resolve to confront challenges together.   China and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to deepen their cooperation in strategic areas, including development strategies, investment, and climate change. The two ministers agreed to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to further consolidate the traditional friendship between their people. They also agreed to implement the important outcomes of the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and to strive for reaching an agreement on the China-GCC free trade agreement as soon as possible. This is a strategic move by both countries. It's good to see them working together to achieve common goals as there's a lot of potential for both countries to benefit.
