This strategic agreement, facilitated by the UAE Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy of the Republic of Kenya, aims to foster collaboration in the realm of technology-driven development. With a focus on bolstering digitalisation efforts, the memorandum seeks to explore investments in key areas such as digital infrastructure, AI services, and the development of data centre projects, reflecting the shared vision of both nations for a digitally empowered future.

With an impressive annual growth rate of 23 percent over the past decade, the ICT sector has spearheaded economic transformation, positioning Kenya as a prime investment destination for digital infrastructure projects. Notably, the country's robust ICT ecosystem has spurred increased demand for cloud services, prompting investments in data centres and driving market growth projections upwards.

The two ministers agreed to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to further consolidate the traditional friendship between their people. They also agreed to implement the important outcomes of the first China-Arab States Summit and the China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit, and to strive for reaching an agreement on the China-GCC free trade agreement as soon as possible.
