Emirates Red Crescent Launches Dh37.6 Million Ramadan Campaign to Aid Needy Families

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has embarked on a Dh37.6 million Ramadan campaign aimed at supporting families in need both within the UAE and across 44 countries worldwide. This initiative, known as the Ramadan Continuous Giving Campaign, seeks to provide essential assistance to 1.8 million individuals, offering Eid clothing, Ramadan food parcels, and Iftar meals. With the impending start of Ramadan on March 11, the ERC's efforts align with the spirit of compassion and solidarity that characterizes this sacred month.

In addition to traditional aid initiatives, the ERC will introduce women-only Ramadan and Iftar tents across key locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Ajman, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all. Furthermore, the campaign emphasizes the importance of community involvement, with 321 donation collection sites established across all emirates, including malls, markets, and densely populated areas. Through various donation channels such as ERC's donation centers, website, apps, and in-person collection locations, citizens and residents are encouraged to contribute to the cause, reaffirming the UAE's commitment to humanitarianism and global solidarity.

Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the ERC, underscores the campaign's objectives of alleviating suffering, improving lives, and preserving human dignity. With a focus on combatting poverty, hunger, and diseases, the ERC aims to expand its Ramadan programs to countries in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, such as the Gaza Strip. As preparations at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi are finalized to welcome worshippers and visitors, the UAE's dedication to ensuring the safety and well-being of all during Ramadan underscores the nation's commitment to compassion, solidarity, and the principles of Islam.
