At Cop28, Governor Koike underscored the urgency of acting swiftly to address the global climate crisis and invited small and medium-sized businesses from the UAE to collaborate on clean energy initiatives. Emphasizing the historical significance of an oil-producing country hosting Cop28, she expressed a shared commitment between the UAE and Japan to work together in finding sustainable solutions, highlighting the need for global collaboration in the face of increasing natural calamities.


Governor Koike, who is regarded as one of Forbes' most influential women, offers a plethora of knowledge and a strong dedication to renewable energy solutions. Her emphasis on cutting-edge technology—like spray-on perovskite solar cells—showcases Tokyo's commitment to coming up with novel solutions for traffic, pollution, and waste management in urban settings. The two ministers agreed to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to further consolidate the traditional friendship between their people.
