UAE Launches Ambitious 'Ne’ma' Food Loss & Waste Reduction Roadmap

 



The UAE Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, has presented the "Ne'ma Food Loss and Waste Reduction Roadmap," a comprehensive action plan with the ambitious goal of reducing food loss and waste in the UAE by 50% by 2030. This is a huge step towards sustainability. The fourth National Dialogue on Food Security, which was arranged by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in association with ne'ma, the National Food Loss and Waste Initiative, featured the unveiling.

The event featured high-level panel discussions, highlighting the pivotal role food loss and waste reduction play in achieving crucial objectives such as food security, sustainable consumption, and the development of circular ecosystems. The overarching theme, 'Call for Change: Reducing Food Loss and Waste in the UAE,' emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues in the context of climate change mitigation.

The launch of the 'Ne’ma' Food Loss and Waste Reduction Roadmap marks a commendable step in the UAE's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
