Masdar City Free Zone Launches Specialized AI Business Package to Boost Innovation

The Masdar City Free Zone, in collaboration with Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), has unveiled a tailored licensing package aimed at catalyzing the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) businesses in the region. This initiative is set to accelerate the UAE's AI landscape, providing startups and businesses in the AI sector with an advantageous entry point into Masdar City. The package, starting at AED12,000 per year, includes licensing and office space, offering an affordable and supportive environment for AI-focused enterprises. Additionally, students and faculty from MBZUAI venturing into AI businesses within the Masdar City Free Zone will benefit from a 50 percent discount for the first two years, fostering an ecosystem conducive to innovation.

The introduction of this AI-focused business package stems from a Memorandum of Understanding signed during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week between MBZUAI, Masdar City, and The Catalyst, Masdar City's venture arm. This strategic collaboration aims to propel innovation in the tech industry by supporting and nurturing AI ventures. The emphasis on affordability and collaboration reflects Masdar City's commitment to fostering a dynamic environment where AI businesses of all sizes can thrive. The program not only aligns with the UAE's vision for technological leadership but also positions Masdar City as a hub for AI innovation.

This move stems from a pact signed during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, bringing together MBZUAI, Masdar City, and The Catalyst, Masdar City's venture arm. It's a tag-team effort to boost tech innovation by supporting budding AI ventures. With this initiative, Masdar City isn't just aiming to be a tech hub; it's paving the way for AI progress in the UAE and beyond. It's exciting to see the UAE ramping up its game in the global tech arena, isn't it?
